Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ZMeeting, provided by Rising Star Apps ("ZMeeting," "we," "us," or "our"), processes information when you use the ZMeeting application for macOS and this legal website.
ZMeeting does not require a Rising Star Apps account, does not contain advertising or analytics, and does not transmit your calendar events or tasks to a Rising Star Apps server. Core meeting and task processing occurs locally on your Mac.
Contents
1. Scope
This policy applies to the ZMeeting macOS application and the website on which this policy is published. It does not govern Zoom, Apple, your email provider, your calendar provider, or other third-party products and services.
2. Information ZMeeting processes
ZMeeting processes the following categories only as needed to provide the features you choose to use.
ZMeeting does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or a Rising Star Apps cloud account system. It does not request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone, or camera. Zoom or other applications you open may separately request their own system permissions.
3. How information is used
ZMeeting uses information to:
- Find and display calendar events that contain a Zoom meeting link.
- Sort, search, remind you about, and archive meetings.
- Create, edit, display, and complete local tasks.
- Open Zoom meeting links and provide a web interface for scheduling a Zoom meeting.
- Download a calendar file you request and pass it to Apple Calendar.
- Remember preferences and provide requested launch-at-login behavior.
- Respond to support or feedback emails you send.
- Maintain the security and availability of this legal website.
4. Local storage and retention
Meetings and tasks
Imported meetings and tasks are stored in encrypted local application files within your macOS user account. ZMeeting reads active calendar meetings only for the one-month-past to one-month-future window. Completed meeting history may be retained locally for up to one year. Tasks remain until you delete them or remove the application's local data.
Calendar files
When Zoom supplies an .ics calendar file, ZMeeting temporarily
stores it so macOS can open it in Calendar. ZMeeting schedules that file for
removal after approximately two minutes and removes stale temporary calendar
files when the application next starts.
Preferences and website data
App preferences remain locally until changed or the relevant application data is removed. Zoom cookies and session data are retained by the macOS web view according to its storage behavior and Zoom's policies. Support emails are kept only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
5. Third-party services
Zoom
Create and Join features connect directly to Zoom websites or the Zoom application. Information you submit to Zoom is processed by Zoom, not by a Rising Star Apps server. Review the Zoom Privacy Statement. ZMeeting is an independent application and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zoom Video Communications, Inc.
Apple services
ZMeeting uses macOS technologies including Calendar access, the system clipboard, launch-at-login services, and Apple Calendar. Apple and any calendar account provider may process information under their own terms and policies.
Website hosting
This legal website may be hosted using Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process limited technical information to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
7. Your choices and deletion
- Calendar access: You can deny or revoke access at any time in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security > Calendars.
- Tasks: You can edit or delete tasks within ZMeeting.
- Local meeting data: Calendar changes are reflected when ZMeeting refreshes. Completed history can remain for the retention period. To remove all locally stored ZMeeting content, quit ZMeeting and remove its local application data using macOS storage tools, or contact us for guidance.
- Zoom data: Manage Zoom account information, cookies, and privacy choices through Zoom and the relevant macOS website-data controls.
- Support email: You may ask us to delete personal information contained in support correspondence, subject to legal retention requirements.
ZMeeting does not create a developer-hosted user account, so there is no remote ZMeeting account or cloud task database to delete.
8. Security
ZMeeting uses the macOS App Sandbox and encrypts its local meeting and task files. We also limit calendar processing to the time range needed by the app. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your Mac, macOS account, Zoom account, and calendar accounts.
9. Children
ZMeeting is a general productivity application and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Rising Star Apps server. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when ZMeeting's features, legal requirements, or third-party integrations change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or its distribution page when appropriate.
11. Contact
For privacy questions, deletion requests concerning information you sent to us, or help removing local application data, contact Rising Star Apps.
