Terms of Service

1. The application

ZMeeting is a local productivity application that can identify Zoom meeting information in Apple Calendar, display and remind you about meetings, open Zoom links, assist with scheduling meetings through Zoom's website, and let you manage local tasks. Features may vary by macOS version, device settings, permissions, Zoom availability, and application version.

ZMeeting is not a video-conferencing service, calendar provider, emergency notification service, or system of record. It does not host Zoom meetings or guarantee delivery of calendar invitations.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally permitted to use the application and capable of entering into these Terms. If you use ZMeeting for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf. Children may use the application only with the involvement and permission required by applicable law.

3. License

Subject to these Terms and any applicable app-store rules, Rising Star Apps grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use ZMeeting on Apple-branded devices that you own or control for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

This license does not transfer ownership of ZMeeting or any intellectual property. Any rights not expressly granted are reserved by Rising Star Apps and its licensors.

4. Permissions and local data

Some features require calendar access, network access, launch-at-login access, or interaction with other macOS applications. You choose whether to grant these permissions and can change them in macOS System Settings. Certain features will be unavailable if a required permission is denied or revoked.

You retain responsibility for your calendar content, tasks, meeting links, notes, and other information processed locally by ZMeeting. Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party services

Zoom

ZMeeting can open or display Zoom services. Your use of Zoom is governed by Zoom's own terms, policies, account requirements, and fees. ZMeeting is an independent application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Zoom Video Communications, Inc. "Zoom" and related marks belong to their respective owner.

Apple and calendar providers

ZMeeting relies on macOS and may interact with Apple Calendar, the Mac App Store, email applications, browsers, and calendar account providers. Those products and services are governed by their own agreements. We do not control their operation, content, security, availability, or data practices.

You are responsible for complying with the terms that apply to each third-party service and for confirming that you are authorized to access any meeting, calendar, or organizational information used with ZMeeting.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use ZMeeting only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• Protect your Mac, macOS account, Zoom account, calendar accounts, and meeting credentials.
• Review meeting times, time zones, invitees, links, passcodes, and calendar entries before relying on them.
• Respect confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property, and organizational policies.
• Maintain appropriate backups of information that is important to you.
• Install operating-system and application security updates when reasonably available.

7. Reminders and information accuracy

ZMeeting derives information from Calendar and third-party links. Calendar sync delays, changed or canceled events, malformed links, time-zone differences, application state, sleep, shutdown, permission changes, and system scheduling can affect what ZMeeting displays or whether a reminder appears.

Reminders are a convenience only. You must not rely on ZMeeting as the sole method of receiving time-sensitive, safety-critical, legal, medical, financial, or emergency notifications. Always verify important meetings and deadlines with their authoritative source.

8. Prohibited use

You may not:

• Use ZMeeting to violate law, third-party rights, privacy, or confidentiality obligations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to meetings, accounts, devices, or networks.
• Distribute malware, interfere with the application, or bypass security controls.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify ZMeeting except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Rent, lease, sublicense, sell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the application except as expressly authorized.
• Misrepresent an affiliation with Rising Star Apps, Apple, Zoom, or another party.

9. Ownership and feedback

ZMeeting, including its software, interface, graphics, documentation, and branding, is owned by Rising Star Apps or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

If you send suggestions or feedback, you grant us permission to use them without restriction or compensation, provided that we do not publicly identify you without permission. This does not transfer ownership of your calendar content, tasks, or other personal information.

10. Updates and availability

We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features; release updates; change system requirements; or discontinue ZMeeting. Updates may be required for continued use, security, or compatibility. We are not responsible for incompatibility caused by unsupported operating systems, third-party changes, or your failure to install updates.

We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, continued availability of any third-party integration, or that every defect will be corrected.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZMeeting is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.

We do not warrant that reminders will always appear, that calendar or Zoom information will be complete or current, that third-party services will remain available, or that local data will never be lost or corrupted. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rising Star Apps and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, business, goodwill, opportunities, or meetings, arising from or related to ZMeeting or third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or reduces mandatory consumer rights available in your jurisdiction.

13. Termination

You may stop using ZMeeting at any time and uninstall it. Your rights under these Terms end automatically if you materially breach them. We may suspend or discontinue the application where reasonably necessary for legal, security, operational, or business reasons.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and applicable third-party obligations, will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to ZMeeting, law, or third-party services. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. When required, material changes will be communicated through the application or its distribution page. Your continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

15. General provisions

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the application.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Rising Star Apps concerning ZMeeting, together with any mandatory app-store terms. Mandatory consumer protections and other rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.
